Exercise Physiologist
Kirby completed her Exercise and Sports Science degree at the Queensland University of Technology in 2018, with a passion for providing the best evidence-based prescription to her athletes. She believes that without the integration of the most up-to-date research, the athlete’s goals and her professional experience, the absolute benefits from the program will not be obtained. She is a firm believer, that in order to significantly improve athletic ability and performance exercise prescription needs to be individualized, transferable and tailored-to-the-athlete. She endeavors to build quality relationships with her athletes and equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed – both as an athlete and in life.
Growing up Kirby played basketball for the Toowoomba Mountaineers before moving to Brisbane to play. She competed in U14, U16, and U18 Queensland teams, and had the opportunity to play for Australia in the 3 x 3 competition, where she captained the team to Gold. However, even though she has considerable experience within the basketball realm, she understands the importance of strength and condition in all sporting events, whether it’s in a team or individual.
Kirby still competes at a high level of basketball, more recently, becoming a coach at the Toowoomba Grammar School.
