Media Release: Toowoomba businesses are getting fit

27 February 2019

It is well known that competition can be a really good motivator, so this year’s Corporate Challenge is set to get employees moving! Clifford Gouldson Lawyers are going head to head with GTH Group for the title of fittest employees in town, amongst other competitors.

Vision Exercise Physiology are running their second Corporate Challenge launching at Peak 2 Park this Sunday, March 3 with four businesses participating who are focusing on their employee health.

Michael Usher, Director of Vision Exercise Physiology said “it is great to see employers investing the health of their employees. Organisations that have implemented effective wellness programs have seen increased employee morale and engagement, reduced workplace injuries and associated expenses and increased attraction and retention of employees.”

Vision Exercise Physiology launched the program after realising the gap in corporate health programs in the Toowoomba region. Wellness programs such as this have been proven to increase employee morale and engagement while reducing workplace injuries.

Ben Gouldson, Director of Clifford Gouldson Lawyers are looking forward to their second year participating in the Corporate Challenge.

“The team at Clifford Gouldson Law values workplace wellness.  Wellness, in our minds, is about physical and mental wellbeing. Having fun is also an important mantra at our workplace, and so if there is a chance to gather together as a team and have a bit of fun, we’ll be a part of it.  Community engagement is also a key focus for this place, and the Corporate Challenge involves participation across the broader community,” said Mr Gouldson.

This is also the second year the GTH Group has participated and their Senior Associate Mat McColley is keen to invest in the health of all their staff.  “We are keen to get our staff engaged in the Corporate Challenge and invest in keeping our people happy, motivated and healthy,” said Mr McColley.

TSBE Health General Manager Jaden Frame has also got a corporate team together and is looking forward to participating. “We need to consider the health of employees and it is more fun to get involved when you can work together as a team,” said Mr Frame.

The Corporate Challenge runs from March 4 until April 14, and features a Better Living six week education program and two onsite workshops for participants. For more information on programs for employee health please contact Vision Exercise Physiology on 4638 3777
