It’s hard to believe that we are already in April, and now it is as important as ever that we create a solid exercise routine to help us stay compliant in to the cooler months. Our community-based exercise program ‘Heartmoves’ is thriving yet again, with 25-30 participants regularly participating in this low-moderate intensity exercise class that is targeted towards but not limited to those who may have a chronic disease condition or who may have been out of exercise for a while.
Besides the social aspect that group exercise brings, Heartmoves provides exercise at a level that is suitable for everyone, with the aim of improving strength, mobility and balance. This Heartmoves class has been going strong for 3 and a half years, and continues to provide an affordable exercise solution for those who would like to engage in formal physical activity, but who need the guidance to do so safely and effectively.
As an instructor of this class, I have the privilege to see how exercise can provide people with improved quality of life and a greater sense of wellbeing. Structured physical activity can improve a person’s self significantly- it’s one of the most affordable and effective treatments available. Classes run Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at a cost of $3 per session. For more information, contact reception on (07) 4638 3777.
