Here is a link to a great video by Dr Grant Cooper who is a physician that specialises in the non-operative treatment of spine, joint and muscle pain. He explains the importance of training your back and associated core muscles to help reduce the amount of stress that goes through the spine. When these muscle aren’t working optimally, extra stress is taken by the spine and that is when pain and injury can occur. He also highlights the importance of consistency to ensure you prevent any further pain or injury.
I believe that not only is consistency important, but also understanding that it is a long term commitment. This sounds scary, however back stabilisation and core exercises can be built into any gym or home program or it may be as simple as completing a few small exercises before bed. Its better be be proactive when it comes to spine health then reactive.
Here at Vision we like to take care of our backs, so for the past two years have been running our BACK to Life program. This program teaches you the fundamentals that you need to know not only to reduce back pain, but also how to develop a small routine you can do long term. If you have been going under the assumption that a degree of back pain is normal or that it will eventually go away, why not stop waiting, and try getting on top of your pain.
The final round of BACK to Life for the year begins Wednesday October 11th. Call us on 46 383 777 to book your spot now!!
