Its getting close to that time of year again when there is an increased number of lunches, dinners and other seasonal gatherings to attend and life can just get busy. So, this week when I was reading an article titled “’ get fit not fat this Christmas”, I realised that I myself was thinking about skipping my normal exercise and dietary habits to indulge in the family gatherings that I have coming up. However, this article made me think that it would be a good idea to reevaluate the way I was going to spend my Christmas break.
You do not necessarily have to continue with your normal fitness programs however participating in some basic activities can help you stay energised, reduce the stress that can be associated with this time of year and can also give you a bit of a break.
As this article suggests you can get up and get some exercise in first thing in the morning, however it may be more practical and restful if you make it a semi-organised activity that you, your friends or family can do together. You could consider going to your local park for a walk or even for a round of backyard cricket. So I hope that this article gives you some ideas or inspiration just like it has given me so that I can enjoy the treats of Christmas and New Years while also keeping active.
