This article is for those of you out there like me who are not as interested in lifting weights. The type of training that appeals to me is body weight training. This type of training uses no equipment, the exercises are relatively easy to learn, they can be modified to suit most levels of ability, they are easy to do just about anywhere and they are appropriate for a variety of ages.
Body weight exercises have been ranked by the American College of Sports Medicine as one of the most popular fitness/ training trends since 2013. There are a number of exercise options like the traditional push ups and squats but there are plenty more to choose from such as planks, mountain climbers and lunges. With body weight exercise you can have strength building elements and cardio elements.
Here are some basic body weight exercises that can be modified and are versatile for most ages and fitness levels, remember these are just examples of body weight exercises.
