A new challenge has been floating around the internet the past few weeks and I was interested to know more about it. The challenge is to complete 22 pushups and record yourself doing it in an aim to reach a collective total of 22 million pushups. The group called 22KILL have started this challenge to raise awareness for veteran suicide prevention through education and empowerment. From personal experience, I know quite a few veterans that struggle with PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) as a result of their service and the importance of support and education.
The statistics that have been reported on the website and the rationale behind the challenge are incredible and highlight a significant issue. It is a challenge that I am going to complete (and post) and try and get the rest of the Vision team to jump onto as well. The beauty of this challenge is that it is adaptable to any level of fitness whether you do pushups on your feet, knees or even a bench.
